Welcome

Mike Schadek

I was elected to the Upper Arlington City Council in 2011 and have helped expand economic development in the city while balancing our budget with no income tax increase or cuts in services. Responsive representation and a willingness to listen to residents has always been my focus. I have worked effectively with Republicans and Democrats in Upper Arlington to create a balanced budget and maintain the highest “Triple A” bond rating from major credit agencies, which allowed for favorable interest rates for the city. My time on city council oversaw economic development at the Kingsdale and Lane Avenue corridor including the first hotel in Upper Arlington.

Safety has been a major focus of mine and as a city councilperson, I helped update the city website and created a new community system which alerts residents and businesses via phone, email, and text in cases of emergency called “UA Alerts”. I have been a vocal advocate and supporter of police and fire forces, making UA one of the safest cities in America. I hope to continue to serve the people of my community in new and exciting ways.
